    El Cruce Swim

    Event overview

    El Cruce

El Cruce swim or Cruce Cancún to Isla Mujeres, is one of the World’s Top 100 Open Water Swims and the World’s Top 100 Island Swims.

It is a beautifully two-race event from Cancún to Isla Mujeres in Quintana Roo in southern Mexico. Swimmers can choose between a 3.8 km and 10 km ocean course in crystal-clear water tropical waters that can occasionally become rough and tidal.

The El Cruce swim is traditionally held at the end of May and is considered to be one of the most beautiful inter-island ocean competitions and marathon swims in the world.

    El Cruce Swim Races

    HALF IRON SWIM (1.9 KM)

Shortest distance, but swimming against the current makes it complex.

    IRON SWIM (3.8 KM)

Middle distance swim race, against the current. Recommended distance for participants who have knowledge of open water swims and are still looking for more personal safety due to the proximity to the coast.

    CRUCE COMPLETO (10 KM)

The iconic marathon swim distance. Complete crossing from Cancun Island to Isla Mujeres.

    Cancun, Mexico
    16-18, May, 2025
